2012 Nov 19

At Gettysburg College, the Center for Public Service engages students, community members, faculty and staff to facilitate partnerships, education, critical thinking and informed action. Through these alliances, CPS aims to foster social justice by promoting personal, institutional and community change. Each year, students are hired as program coordinators to work with specific agencies and/or projects.

Joseph Miller of Elliotsburg, a Senior at Gettysburg College, is working as a program coordinator with Immersion Projects for 2012 - 2013.

Program coordinator responsibilities include providing ongoing student involvement to their partner agency through developing and implementing projects and supporting volunteers through education and in reflection.

Founded in 1832, Gettysburg College is a highly selective four-year residential college of liberal arts and sciences with a strong academic tradition that includes Rhodes Scholars, a Nobel laureate and other distinguished scholars among its alumni. The college enrolls 2,600 undergraduate students and is located on a 200-acre campus adjacent to the Gettysburg National Military Park in Pennsylvania.
