Joseph Miller Receives Award at Gettysburg College's Spring Honors Day

Gettysburg College has a long tradition of recognizing students for outstanding scholarship and achievement. Awards, made possible by the generous gifts of alumni and friends, were presented at a Spring Honors Program on May 18, 2013. More than 40 named awards were presented to students who were selected on the basis of their academic achievement and service to the campus community.

Joseph Miller of Elliottsburg, received the John M. Colestock Student Leadership Award and Linda Y. Welsh Prize for Excellence in Education at the College's Spring Honors Day ceremonies.

Founded in 1832, Gettysburg College is a highly selective four-year residential college of liberal arts and sciences with a strong academic tradition. Alumni include Rhodes Scholars, a Nobel laureate, and other distinguished scholars. The college, which enrolls 2,600 undergraduate students, is located on a 200-acre campus adjacent to the Gettysburg National Military Park in Pennsylvania.
